Reliability of the Bible Apologetics Talk

Last Friday, we covered one of the biggest questions about Christianity: How do we know that the Bible is reliable?

A lot of people have this question, so it's important that we can prove to people that the Bible isn't just a fairy-tale, or that it got changed after being passed down over so many centuries, or that the disciples made the whole thing up.

Let's see how we tackled that question!

Kenneth and Chris gave the talk and showed that 1) the Bible is a historical document because there is a lot of archaeological evidence that proves the existence of biblical characters and locations (i.e. King David, Pool of Beth…

Kenneth and Chris gave the talk and showed that 1) the Bible is a historical document because there is a lot of archaeological evidence that proves the existence of biblical characters and locations (i.e. King David, Pool of Bethesda). They showed that 2) the Bible we have today is the same as the original because we have 20,000+ copies of the New Testament to cross- reference. Moreover, we know that 3) the Bible isn't made-up because there are a lot of embarrassing stories about the disciples that they never would have included if they didn't actually happen! And lastly, 4) the Bible seems to be from our Creator because it describes our true nature more accurately than we could describe ourselves.

our last Pacman game. This wasn't that either. This was NEW AND IMPROVED PACMAN 2.0--complete with fog machine, lights, and a pretty confusing labyrinth from which the students who entered never returned.

Well that was the goal, anyway, but their bravery and wits got them out.

Here, one of our fearless Maze Runners, er I mean Pacmen, prepares to enter the maze, where unspeakable horrors awaited him.

Afterwards we wrapped up with ice cream sandwiches and headed home!

Throughout the week, I encourage you guys to try to review the main points of our talk so that you can always be prepared to give a defense for why you believe what you believe! Trust me, you wouldn't want to get caught unprepared when your friend asks you an important question like this!

1 Peter 3:15
"...but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect..."
